The scenes flash by me
As I gaze out the window
Pastoral beauty
Midwest farm country
Dotting I-75
A sight to behold
Signifies hard work
Going back hundreds of years
True salt of the earth
Some rickety now
But many still flourishing
Lush landscapes to see
Early starts to days
Working until after dark
Never ending tasks
Benefits we reap
In farm to table staples
Connected to earth
To those that work the soil, we thank you for your perseverance.
Margie
Great post. My family goes back centuries as workers of the land.
Beautiful pastoral scenes and lovely haiku.
Wonderful post, Margie.
Very lovely tribute! I grew up on a crop farm, so I am very familiar with farm life, country life, and working the soil day in and day out.
Wonderful haiku Margie and so appropriate as I believe Thanksgiving is near?
Great Haiku to go with lovely farm scenes!
Awww Margie I am all taken with your two sweet barns! And your words are lovely. And yes a big thanks to the farmers! Good Morning Margie!
lovely words and photos Margie, I can imagine long lives on those idyllic farms 🙂
I love the stories old barns and old houses tell. Beautiful capture of a working life.
