ANY PORT IN A STORM

I love this capture, Calling Sailors Home”. There is something special about a lighthouse and in this photo, its vividly green beacon and calm, steadfast stature that immediately makes me think of sea, storm and sailing stories. Having just visited Duluth and watched the freighters come and go, this photo is even more powerful to me as this particular beacon of hope sits on Lake Superior, where we all know the Edmund Fitzgerald went down on that fateful day in 1975. I can hear the melody and words of Gordon Lightfoot’s infamous song as I post. The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”, truly applies here don’t you think?

Wishing you a calm, safe and peaceful weekend, Margie

  1. Beautiful post and and the pic does capture the theme so well. Enjoyed listening to ‘The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald’. Thanks for sharing! Dilip
