COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!

I love to hear the crow of a rooster. However, I’ve never been this close to one when he does. Holy smokes, it’s LOUD! I guess I always heard them in the distance.

Add this guy honking~

and this one too~

Well let me tell you, I had to get the heck out of Dodge! My outing to Pond Hill Farm was great fun. I felt like Mr. Greenjeans from Captain Kangaroo. Remember them?

I guess this triggered a trip down memory lane too. Honking big hugs, Margie

  1. We went to the SD Zoo this past weekend and we saw a beautiful peacock with his feathers all fluffed out and I thought to myself “Where is Margie?!?!” He was so pretty and I know you would have loved him just as much as I did.

  2. Great shots of these barnyard denizens! My (ahem) younger sister watched Captain Kangaroo all the time. I did like the Tom Terrific cartoons with Mighty Manfred the Wonder Dog, which I think were part of the show.

  3. Mr Cockadoodledoo is a fine specimen indeed and has taken me down memory lane to my beloved Grandparent’s farm. When I was a little girl I was terribly frightened of these guys because I was the chief egg collector and the rooster had a terrible temper and would chase me about the coop – I’m sure it was fun to see if you were a bystander. A little girl in plaits, eggs in hand hightailing it around the yard chased by a rooster.

    Happy day!
