I had lunch in Ann Arbor on Tuesday with Jeanne, the owner of Between the Covers Bookstore in Harbor Springs, Michigan. We have been internet pals for quite sometime as I read her wonderful Newsletter each month and she reads my blog. We have tried to meet in Harbor Springs at least 3 times in the last 6 months, but something always happens to muck up our plans. Never mind that Jeanne has owned the bookstore for 7 years, lived in Harbor for over 20 years and I have been going to the area for over 20 years myself. It took Jeanne having a business appointment in Ann Arbor to finally meet face to face. All those years, I’ve been only a block away and certainly have been in and out of her bookstore many times. Better late than never! We had a grand time.

After playing catch up over lunch, we shopped the galleries and as we were walking past Clay Gallery on Main Street, in the window was an adorable rabbit created by artist Marcia Polenberg. And wouldn’t you know it, he was reading a book! Well that’s all Jeanne had to see. We went in and she came out with a new treasure for her shop.
How cute is he with his crooked little smile? Make sure you stop in and see Jeanne AND Harvey at the cozy, beautiful, very special Between the Covers Bookstore if you find yourself in northern Michigan. Harvey hugs, Margie

  1. How wonderful! Looks like you two had a great time.
Jeanne’s bookstore looks adorable. I’ve always had a secret dream of owning a little bookstore. I love that she says “we don’t have all the books, but we have the ones you want to read!” xo K
