Such a sweet old guy. Don’t let his looks scare you. The Count showed up in October of son Paul’s sophomore year at Michigan State University, just in time for Halloween (courtesy of his Father) and stayed through graduation. He was the mascot of the house Paul and his sister Betsy lived in during college. He saw plenty. He held many a beer can and had his picture taken with hundreds of Paul and Betsy’s closest friends! The Count is legendary, as is 540 Charles in East Lansing. After both graduated, he came to live with us. He currently keeps watch over our lower level, still scaring the bejeezes out of me when I catch his big hulking form out of the corner of my eye, even though I know he’s there! I’m quite sure he is “counting” the days until he can return to his rightful owner, Paul. The memories of the Count of 540 live on in the hearts and minds of many a student at Michigan State University. If only he could talk! The stories he would tell! This morning, I could see by the expression on his face, he is rooting for the Spartans to kick Iowa’s butt today. Go Green! Happy Halloween! Margie

  1. OMG I nearly jumped out of my chair when I saw this photo. How can you have him in your house. Is the spartan’s your football team. We don’t use the word ‘rooting’ in Australia as it means something totally different :-)). LOL. We barrack for a team. Good Luck. Charmaine

    • You are so funny! Yes, he is here until Paul lives in a place large enough to take him. Both kids went to Michigan State so that is why we “barrack” for them. Love Australian words! XO

Thank you for letting me know you've been here!
