My friend and fellow art class buddy, Dale, showed up with this quote on Monday. I had to have it to share with you. Dale penned this quote by Sheila Waters and teaches a calligraphy course at the Community House in Birmingham. Such a beautiful skill to have. “Flo” is a small acrylic I just finished. I like her face. This quote so eloquently phrased, put perspective on learning a new skill. To say I am taking baby steps when it comes to putting a brush or palette knife to canvas, or pencil to paper, is an understatement. The quote does say skill proceeds at its own special pace. For me, we’re talking snail’s pace! I’m okay with that. Keep this quote front and center if you are learning a new skill to add to your creative repertoire. It definitely made me feel better about the whole process!

Creatively, Margie
